Baseball/Softball Sign-Ups a Big Success!

As of today, the Plumas Lake Tiny T-Ballers has signed up 56 players.  This is enough for 6 teams!  Teams will be assigned a color, instead of the usual MLB team name.  We have tentatively scheduled a Managers/Coaches meeting for all those interested, Friday February 23, 2007 at 7pm.  If you expressed interest in being either a manager or coach, you will receive an e-mail with more details.  You will be getting a call sometime near the end of this month from a coach letting you know what team your child is on.  Practices will start around March 12, 2007, and days and time will be at the coaches discretion.

South Sutter Baseball has also had a great showing, with close to 300 players signed up.  The league is heavy with the T-ball ages, and coach pitch boys, and lacking in girls softball and boys minor/majors.  There are enough however, to hopefully avoid having to traveling this season.  Tryouts for minors and up will be on Saturday March 3, 2007 at 4pm at the fields in E. Nicolaus.

Baseball Fields Being Improved

The old Plumas Charter School on Old Forty Mile Road is now being used for the School District offices.  There are two all fields behind them that our kids can use for the new baseball/softball league.  There is only one problem; they need a lot of work.  Thanks to Steve Dorman of Landscaping Solutions, who is getting to work on making the fields useable for this baseball/softball season.  If you or anyone you know would like to donate supplies or time, please contact us at mailto:info@plysa.org.  We will need boards, paint, bleachers, etc.
